Here is a new project I was lucky enough to get involved in with Arthur Agency. It is always fun to connect with these guys, because they have the most diverse projects and they push me to deliver a product of higher quality every time.
This project was for WBTray.com (AKA WBT, LLC.).
This was a great project because I got to work with a new shader workflow that previous projects didn’t necessarily require. To make silver flecks and gold dust on the powder coating was a cool effect. The flyer that had the CAT 5 had some challenges and I finally got to use some neat deformer tools that I normally wouldn’t consider to give a “wires inside a sleeve” look.
Again, thanks to Arthur Agency for the fun and rewarding project.

I had the opportunity to look back at all of my work since college. It has been a great experience to work with some very talented men and women that make Indie Game Mods and Independent Film Shorts.
With these opportunities I did come out of it with some great experience. I went out of my comfort zone (Architectural Modeling) to try to round out my 3d Generalization. I did organic modeling (still working on a project involving living subjects), to Compositing shots for live action. As you look at my the Game Mod weapons I have really stepped out of the comfort zone. Weapons are really fun and they have a different approach to modeling than that of sky scrappers and Mansions.
The butcher’s knife was the first project I was involved with post college for an Indie Game Mod based in the Source Engine. I found my darker side for that project and started experimenting with blood and normal maps used to make life-like damage to the player’s enemies. Then the axe was for another project shortly thereafter of a similar nature. I guess I took these projects because I knew it would help my texturing abilities and in a way they helped me learn more than just textures but all the components of making a believable weapon.
The Ornate column was one of many models I completed for the Independent Film Short named “Arad”. This was the first time I put so much of my time and detailing one particular object that would ultimately only be shown for half a second. I found that with film your work may not always be appreciated, but it is all worth it when you know what you did to make that little bit of magic happen. To Chad and Sepher, I thank you for the great experience to work side by side with the best most up and coming artist and Director.
Until next time.

Arthur Agency was kind enough to let me post the work completed for them on two new projects. You can find these projects in the “Projects > CG Illustration” section. It was once again a great honor to work with them. They seem to create projects that make their clients fun and creative in a snap. Click on the “System Overview” image to get the full idea of the assets created for Arthur. They are once again proving that they are fully capable of handling any media in the business.

It has been a little while since my last update. Partially due to working on a new project for a Premiere Advertising Agency in Southern Illinois. Check out Arthur Agency for all of your extremely professional website and advertising needs. These guys rock and it was a real privilege to work with them. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon. I will (with permission given by AA) post my work with them when Final Ad is in the can. Thanks guys.

Recently I was recruited by a student Director ran Short Film called “Arad”. A great mix of Ancient Middle East storytelling and the visual style of 300. I am proud to be a part of the visual effects team and will post completed project work when final cut is completed (with permission). I am tasked with modeling environment pieces for the “Post Production” CG team.
It seems Innotech Manufacturing is requiring more work on their website, so look for more updates of work in current projects.

I added my 2005 Demo Reel in the “Demo Reels” section and I’ve got a logo animation that I just finished for a manufacturing facility that designs and manufactures modular products, in the “Current Projects“.

Hello everyone,
This site is my new Web-folio of work that I have completed and what I am currently working on replacing the old and busted ablack3d.com .
Later you will see my Demo-Reel and my Resume. Check out the “About” section for more about me and a background of myself. Every artist has his or her story and what inspires them, of course I would have one too.
Maybe you want me to work on one of your projects (Independent or Mainstream) or feel like you want to join me in my journey as an artist, feel free to Bookmark/RSS/Comment.
Do what you love doing the most in life, stop and admire it, then do it some more. Until next time.
